If you need to explain why you want to withdraw your own money from your bank, it's not your money anymore.

All drivers should have 2 weeks per year when they are not allowed to drive. It would make them realise how shit town planning/road safety/public transport is for pedestrians in the UK and maybe do something about it.

Think we've reached the point where it's more of a flex to have a crappy old car than a shiny new one. Shows you have your priorities straight. I work in car insurance and can confirm that the vast, vast majority of people with fancy cars have them on ludicrous finance deals

The reason the British have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol is that we have fuck all else to live for. We've impoverished ourselves, told our friends to fuck off, smashed our public services and closed our public spaces. A bitter, bored nation with nothing left but spite.

People get weirdly irate about MPs salaries and expenses. But by far the bigger issue is that they're allowed to have second jobs and multiple income streams. A recipe for disaster. Pay them significantly more. But no second jobs. Do the job you're elected for.

It's impossible for a decent person to become a billionaire. Anyone who isn't a total sociopath would just stop and do something worthwhile instead a long time before they accumulated that kind of wealth.

Couples, it's OK not to do everything together, esp. things you know you'll hate. Both my long-term GFs insisted going to gigs together, with me, not with each other, they were consecutive GFs, so I had to suffer through boybands and they endured Tom Waits etc. It's not healthy.
